Construction Permits: Obtained for certain construction activities. Cost is $100 The following permits shall be issued pursuant to section 105.7 of the 2009 International Fire Code. The following list represents common projected operations and is not all inclusive. The Fire Prevention Division may issue additional permits not listed here pursuant to section 105.7 of the Fire Code.
Automatic fire-extinguishing systems: A construction permit is required for installation of or modification to an automatic fire-extinguishing system. Maintenance performed in accordance with this code is not considered a modification and does not require a permit.
Fire alarm and detection systems and related equipment: A construction permit is required for installation of or modification to fire alarm and detection systems and related equipment. Maintenance performed in accordance with this code is not considered a modification and does not require a permit.
Private fire hydrants: A construction permit is required for the installation or modification of private fire hydrants.
Spraying or dipping: A construction permit is required to install or modify a spray room, dip tank or booth.
Standpipe systems: A construction permit is required for the installation, modification, or removal from service of a standpipe system. Maintenance performed in accordance with this code is not considered a modification and does not require a permit.
Plan Submittal Requirements
If you are planning on building in Pleasant View there are a few things you should know about the process. In addition to the plans you submit to Jefferson County, you must submit two sets of plans to us as well. The plans will be reviewed for compliance with the current International Fire Code as well as local ordinance. One set of plans will be retained by the department and the second will be returned to you with our stamp of approval (if applicable).
A fee of $75.00 per hour will be assessed for all types of plan review. There is a one hour minimum. In the event that technical assistance is required by the Fire Marshal, the applicable fee will be assessed as indicated in the Schedule of Fees and Fines.
